update

Some folks have asked for the latest. Well, the latest is good, very good. Shall we just say... our Kim is a miracle. Enough said?

OK, there's more.

All systems are go. She is cooking and walking and reading and working outdoors in her garden (not right now, in winter, but...) and cracking jokes (not that she ever stopped) and picking out the mother-of-the-groom outfits and much, much more. The one consequence of her AVM is damage to her eyesight; my understanding is that she has lost half her eyesight in both eyes. And the way that she and John are approaching this reality is characteristic: they are grateful that she hasn't lost more. She can read and do so many things, despite the loss of vision. Amazing.

So, again, thanks to all for your prayers and faith and meals and rides and cards and love.

Happy New Year. May 2013 bring you many, many blessings.
-Kate
